Hey guys, if you’ve been following my blog posts, you’ll know that this is the forth blog post about the Immortal realm. The first introduced the world, the second was about the sensory witches, and last week’s blog was about the elemental witches. If you missed one, check it out! And if you’re new to my site, welcome! Glad to have you here. Today I will teach you how to kill an immortal.

I figured if I’m telling you about all the different types of immortals: witches, vampires, shifters, etc. you should at least know how they can be killed. There are only two ways of doing it and if you’ve read the last two blogs you might wonder how the witches’ powers come into play here but don’t worry, I’ll explain that too.

The fire sword

One way to kill an immortal is to cut off their head with a sword enchanted by a fire witch. This way is the easier of the two methods because there are a lot more fire witches on the Immortal Realm and so fire swords are easier to come by than the other weapon.

A fire witch can enchant the sword so that when it touches skin, it lights on fire. The wielder of the sword then has to cut off the victim’s head. This is easier than it seems because part of the enchantment is that the blade cuts through skin like butter. Bones are a bit tougher of course but it’s like cutting through carrots, so it takes some energy but not much. So one clean swipe and the head comes right off.

Another thing that makes this the worse of the two deaths is that killing a person with a fire sword kills their soul for eternity. Meaning they won’t be reborn or turn into a ghost or find peace. Instead they’ll simply be gone.

Sword forged in a dragon’s breath

As I mentioned, fire swords are easier to come by than swords forged in a dragon’s breath. This may seem strange because as I mentioned in my introductory blog post, dragons are very common in the Immortal Realm. They aren’t like normal dragons that we read about in books or see in movies, instead they are small and cute, about the size of a german shepherd. Every household has one and they light the fireplaces. Royal households usually have one dragon per room.

So if they are so common, why are swords forged in their breath so hard to come by, you ask? Well, because remember the usual dragons that we see in movies, the big majestic ones…they exist in the Immortal Realm too but are extremely rare. Evolution turned larger dragons into smaller ones and over time, large dragons started being hunted almost to extinction. Only four exist now and a sword can only be forged in the breath of one of these four dragons.

It doesn’t have to be a sword, it could be a dagger. As long as it goes through the heart or cuts off the head, it can kill. When an immortal is killed with this weapon, their soul remains intact. If an earth witch gets to the body in time, they can extract the soul to be reincarnated. If they don’t get to it within 48 hours, the person who was killed may turn into a ghost, they may be reincarnated, or they may find peace. It varies case by case.

So what about witches?

Well, I’m glad you asked because I’d love to explain how this all works. One reader of last week’s blog asked a lot of questions about the Immortal Realm, which I was so happy about! It tells me I’m doing something right and people are curious to know more. So if at any time, you have questions, feel free to ask in the comments!

Okay, getting back on track now. In my blog post about Sensory witches, I told you about a witch that can turn someone to dust with a single touch. So if they can do that, the person they turned to dust is dead you’d think, right?

Actually, no. If someone collects all the ashes within 48 hours and takes them to a group of four elemental witches: fire, water, earth and air, they can bring the person back from the ashes. It’s an amazing thing to witness! Although it will be excruciatingly painful for the person who is being brought back. Sometimes people never recover from that kind of pain.

If the person is turned to dust and their ashes scatter in the wind, there’s not much that can be done for them and they might as well be dead but they’re stuck in a strange desert limbo all alone until one day someone puts them back together, if ever. It’s a fate worse than death.

In the blog post about elemental witches, I told you about how aquatic witches can drain a person’s body of all water but it won’t kill them. This is because with time, usually a few weeks, the body regains the water it lost.

So that’s it I guess! Those were the two ways of how to kill an Immortal although there are many ways to incapacitate them, a few of which I’ve mentioned. I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Let me know what you thought and which method would you use if you had to kill an immortal in the comments. Would you take the time to find a rare sword forged in a dragon’s breath so you could spare their soul or would you go to a fire witch and have them enchant a sword?
